Holly’s books have been called romance, commercial fiction, speculative fiction, and thriller — sometimes all at once — and she considers that a compliment. What they all have in common: sharp wit, plots that move, and characters you’ll think about long after the last page.
Holly holds a PhD in psychology and has spent time in academia and tech. Born and raised in Northern California, she now lives at the sunny southern end of the state with her family, where she can be found at the beach, on a hiking trail, or deep in a deadline.
Her books have been translated into five languages and optioned for film. She writes as both Holly James and Holly Michelle.
